Pre-Convention Excursion: October 4-8, 2026
These tours are local and hope to acclimate you to the higher altitude. We are a “Mile High” in Denver (5,280 feet above sea level).
Tips to avoid altitude sickness… Drink plenty of water. Speak with your private physician about getting a prescription for Acetazolamide (altitude sickness pills). Bring a canister of Pure Oxygen, especially for any trips to higher elevations or strenuous walking/hiking, etc...

- Sunday, October 4 - Hotel arrivals, Supper on your own, Overnight at the Sheraton Denver West Lakewood
- Monday, October 5 - Day trip to Colorado Springs Area, Stop at the Air Force Academy Chapel, Drive through the Garden of the Gods, Spend time in Manitou Springs, Lunch at Biaggi’s, Visit the USA Olympic/Paralympic Museum, Supper Included, Overnight at the Sheraton Denver West Lakewood
- Tuesday, October 6 - Day Trip to Downtown Denver, Drive by Mile High Stadium, Coors Field, Union Station, Colorado Convention Center, State Capitol, lunch included, visit to the Colorado Historical Museum. Supper Included, Overnight at the Sheraton Denver West Lakewood
- Wednesday, October 7 - Morning visit to the Museum of Nature & Science, Lunch voucher at the museum, Botanic Gardens, Hammond’s Candy Factory. Supper at Las Delicias, Overnight at the Sheraton Denver West Lakewood
- Thursday, October 8 - Morning free to explore on your own, Lunch on your own. Afternoon start of the convention

8 am - 10 am Convention Registration at the hotel
10 am shuttle from hotel to Mother Cabrini Shrine
11 am Mass in the Chapel
1 - 3 pm, Picnic, Music, Camaraderie
3 pm shuttle service back to the hotel
5:30 pm Transportation to the venue
6 pm Supper and Entertainment at the Sons & Daughters of Italy Denver Lodge Hall

Some of the airport transfers are included in the packet price. Other options for transportation between the Denver Airport and the Sheraton Denver West Hotel include: RTD Light Rail each way ($1.75 seniors, Adults-$2.75). With change of trains at Union Station; Car Rental (Free parking at the Sheraton Denver West Lakewood Hotel); Uber/Taxi
Colorado in October should be nice but be sure to layer your clothing. It could be below freezing in the morning, and you’ll be in shorts and short-sleeved shirts in the afternoon! Bring comfortable walking shoes also.
